Do you want to check what a premium rate number (starting '090' or 4, 5 or 6 digit shortcode) on your bill is?
You can check a number on your phone bill by following this link to go to the PhonepayPlus website: http://www.phonepayplus.org.uk/consumers/ncd/default.asp. PhonepayPlus will tell you what the service is and if there has been a complaint about it. Normally people use this because they have forgotten who they have called but if you need to make a complaint about a premium rate service, PhonepayPlus can help too.
Got a problem with a premium rate service and want to report it?
All consumers should be able to use premium rate services with confidence if they choose to do so. If you believe that there is a problem with the content, promotion or operation of a premium rate service then call PhonepayPlus for free on 0800 500 212 between the hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (but not Bank Holidays), staff have been trained to help you report your problem.
You might not be able to get your money back but by reporting your concerns you will be able to help PhonepayPlus with their investigations and help others from having the same experience.

Number checkers just give the impression of doing something but until they actually start clamping down on these rogue services in an effective way the problem will just continue
